Our bilingual class trip to Walsrode Adventure Camp

7e’s class trip to Walsrode Adventure Camp

On Monday morning, after a four-hour journey, we arrived at Walsrode Adventure Camp. First, we unpacked the suitcases and had a tour of the camp. Our first workshop was to learn how to make fire from natural materials. In the evening, we went to a campfire and made bread on a stick and marshmallows.

On the next day we had a big breakfast with rolls and cheese, cold cuts and some vegetables, muesli, cornflakes and some fruit. There was tea, coffee and water to drink, too. After breakfast we went climbing. Then we all met in a seminar room and played “Werewolves”. In the evening there was a campfire again and we had to find the trainers on the camp in a scavenger hunt.

On Wednesday, we first had breakfast again with the same things to eat as the day before. After breakfast we walked to a lake and learned how to steer a canoe or kayak. In the afternoon we walked to another lake and built a raft and then we tried if it swam on the water. Actually, not all of them did ;-).

On Thursday, we had breakfast like the days before. Then we went zip-lining high up in the treetops. The workshop in the afternoon was archery. We got a bow and arrow and played archery tag. In the evening we had pizza. On the other days there was always a buffet for lunch and dinner with warm food. And on the last day we only had breakfast and made lunchboxes for the journey back.

One special thing was a game called “gaga ball” which we played in our free time every day. That was fun!

Sometimes it was a bit difficult because our trainers only spoke English but all in all it was a very fun and nice class trip.
